It's been a while
Really it has!
It certainly has been a while since I last posted anything on the site, busy busy busy etc, you all know how it is.
So what's been happening? Well, i've spent a fair bit of the time travelling; Spain, France, Florida, gigs outside of the UK mainly, mansion parties, boat parties that sort of thing.
I was apparently annoying the neighbours with a garden party/bbq I threw at my place for some friends just after Easter this year. There was about 25 people, the noise wasn't excessive by any means (way less than -50db) and we had some moving heads on some slabs we purposefully dug into the back garden to run a bit of a light show. It started at around 5pm, most people were inside the house by 9pm and it was all over by 10:30pm as I remember getting into a pint of Guinness in a bar in town by 10:50.
I'll not go into too much detail but suffice to say that the neighbours haven't liked me since the day I moved in and decided to get all official about it.
Nobody wants to live next door to the party house, I can relate to that, however, it's not like I have all-nighters with a 150K rig every weekend and some of them aren't exactly quiet at coming and going to work and school runs etc and it wouldn't have boiled my blood if they'd actually had spoken to me in a civil manner but instead they got onto the estate agent I rent through and appointed a solicitor to write to me and got a lady from down the road by at least 20 houses to phone the estate agent and complain that there was "a lot of coming and going". These aren't the actions of people with a minor grievance, these are people who just simply don't like me.
Neither me nor my housemate are thugs - I think they simply don't like the visual of two straight, single guys sharing a house on their perfect little family estate.
That's my rant over with but it feels like this is the price you pay in today's society where the media over conveys the notion that you're either a sad-act-lonely-single-guy or an empowered-right-on-sister-you-don't-need-a-man-single-woman.
